About the role
The primary function of the Practice Development Sr. Analyst is to support the MyEyeDr. Practice Development team in the Company’s corporate development efforts, including due diligence and financial modeling for acquisitions, de novo locations, and other existing office growth opportunities. You will conduct new market analyses to identify whitespace opportunities and help shape our future corporate development efforts. You will drive pre-committee transaction evaluations and ad hoc strategic requests by fostering and utilizing cross-departmental relationships to obtain appropriate qualitative and quantitative inputs. You will work closely with the Practice Development Directors, often serving as the first touch point for initial deal review, material preparation, and summarizing key details that will ultimately inform senior leadership decision making. You will report to the Sr. Director, Practice Development.
This is a hybrid remote role, offering a flexible work arrangement out of our Vienna, VA office.
You Will
- Create the initial acquisition projection analysis and determine the Company’s level of interest in the acquisition based upon diligence, identifying all the operational metrics, growth opportunities, and market factors necessary to achieve pro forma projections.
- Collaborate with the Vice President and Directors of Practice Development to develop initial investment theses and determine level of interest, and appropriately size growth opportunities and risks.
- Prepare comprehensive acquisition committee presentations summarizing the investment opportunity, deal merits and risks, practice specific attributes and the overall market.
- Draft and update Letters of Intent overviewing the key acquisition terms for the prospective Sellers.
- Track performance of individual offices to determine trends regarding same store sales and office contribution.
- Create diligence and strategy presentations to be sent to the Board of Directors for acquisition approval.
- Assist the Practice Development and New Business Initiative teams on the diligence process, including operational, financial, and legal diligence streams.
- After an acquisition is complete, assist with the integration process and performance tracking.
- Identify potential growth opportunities and utilize SiteIntel, a real estate analytics software, to determine priority markets for expansion and identify the best new geographies for MyEyeDr.’s growth.
- Create monthly acquisition performance analysis for MyEyeDr. Senior Leadership Team to review in an effort to identify offices that are underperforming relative to pro forma.
- Perform ad hoc analyses at the request of the Directors or Senior Leadership Team. The Analyst is expected to lead the project management and deliver the final product for these projects, with responsibilities including identifying the appropriate data source, collecting the data, developing refined outputs, and obtaining the appropriate input from other third parties.
- With guidance from the Directors, Analyst shall work on a notably independent basis to move work products forward quickly, accurately, and consistently to deliver the final product to Director for review.
- They are expected to manage ambiguous tasks, call out prospective options, and provide final recommendations for consideration, while understanding when it is appropriate to collaborate with the Director and other Team Leadership.
About You
- Bachelor’s business degree preferred or equivalent business experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Finance, Consulting, Transaction Advisory, or Accounting.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel (including pivot tables and function formulas for data comparison) and PowerPoint required.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent quantitative, written, communication and presentation skills.
- Strong strategic thinker and independent worker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems.
- Ability to make informed decisions using data analysis and strong interpretation of the results.
- Ability to travel 5% when needed outside of normal flexible work arrangement.
